Objective: Retrieve the evil wizard’s locked-away treasure to stop them from completing their obviously evil plan.

Difficulty: Basic to Intermediate

We recommend Wizard’s Treasure by 60 Out! We gave this room a Fun Factor of 8 as the set was engaging, there are lots of puzzles of varying types, the puzzling relied a lot on both tactile manipulation and technology, and we found we were smiling the whole time! Our game guide, Rachel, was wonderful and encouraged us not to rush through the room and to work on puzzles together - this was great advice and played right into our sweet spot as we prefer to savor the experience rather than make the leaderboard.

60 Out permits booking of 2 to 6. We believe that 2 or 3 is the ideal group - this room is largely non-linear which means that teams can break up and solve puzzles independently and leave it to the end to come together. As a group of three we did everything together and had fun experiencing all the puzzles and interactions without feeling rushed. I think a group of 4 may be too big to team up on everything and may find it more fun to work in pairs.

Ahh - Brings back memories of being on NetFlix The Mole Season 2 (episode 1)

This game is appropriate for children in that the theme is whimsical. The room is also appropriate for less experienced escape room players as the difficulty of the puzzles ranges from basic to intermediate. Experienced escape room players will likely find the room as we did for the clean solutions and varied puzzle techniques with a set that simply a joy to explore.

The basic premise of the game is that an evil wizard who is planning apparently evil things needs financing and a valuable magical artifact which is locked in an impressive vault. Our job is to first gain access to his home and then to puzzle our way into the vault and relieve them of their treasure to foil their nasty plans.

We opened the vault!!

This room has a fair amount of scavenging…but we found something that made the scavenging considerably less time-consuming. And since we are generally not great at scavenging we had no complaints but 60 Out could make this an optional scalable difficulty element.

I shot this from below -  It looks huge but this set piece only came up to my chest.

We have been at this location of 60 Out over the years many times and have seen escape rooms come and go…we expect that Wizard’s Treasure will be around for a while. We had fun - if you play Wizard’s Treasure please let them know that you saw the Fun Factor Escape Room Reviews recommendation…and let us know what you think. Have Fun!

PROTIP - there is an optional “LOBBY PUZZLE” at this location of 60 Out…can you find and complete it?
